April 2013 Events in Las Vegas

April 2013 Events in Las Vegas Winter is passing, and Spring is upon us! Honestly, April (alongside October) is one of our favorite times in Vegas. The weather is perfect (with an average high of 78 F and low of 51 F), pool season is on the cusp of opening again, and outdoor activities – walking along the Strip, golfing, sporty events (of which there are many this month), visiting regional nature preserves and parks – are comfortable and accessible. And Vegas is exempted from the saying “April showers bring May flowers” – this is the desert after all! Average rainfall in April is just 0.21"
Note: April can bring a lot of Spring Breakers to town, so be prepared for younger crowds getting their party on around hotspots like pools and bars.

Las Vegas Natural History Museum Lied Discovery Children’s Museum Springs Preserve First Friday Art Celebration (Free) Friday, April 5, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Downtown Arts District http://www.firstfridaylasvegas.com/faq.htm
Vegas celebrates its arts community the first Friday of every month. It’s a fun and family-friendly event that includes artists, vendors and activities. It’s also free, but you may want to bring along some cash if you plan on purchasing any art or taking advantage of the many, many food trucks. The celebration also usually features multiple live bands and live performance “paintings.” It’s one of our favorite events to take the family, get away from the Strip for an evening and discover a cornucopia of artisans specializing in all kinds of media, like painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, and more.
