Courtyard by Marriott
The Courtyard is popular with business travelers because of its fax machines, meeting rooms and large work desks in the 149 guest rooms. The rooms, decorated in tasteful earth tones, range from Spartan single-bed quarters to spacious suites that include separate living rooms. The cable TV has pay-per-view first-run movies, and the telephone is conveniently cordless. You’ll find an exercise room, whirlpool and swimming pool. Special facilities are available for handicapped travelers. Located across Paradise Road from the Las Vegas Convention Center, Courtyard is a hot ticket during the city’s nonstop trade shows, so reservations are essential. Like most Marriott properties, this Courtyard is clean and well-maintained, and the grounds are manicured. The staff is efficient. Discounts of up to 30 percent are available on some of the slower summer weekends. Lodgers who stay over for seven nights or more can also get a cut rate. A 154-room sister property opened in Green Valley at 2900 N. Green Valley Parkway.
You know the drill. This Courtyard is a virtual clone of its sister hotel on Paradise Road–and hundreds of others nationwide. The rooms are clean, light and modern. The grounds and common areas are well-maintained. Still, there are a few welcome touches to this brand-new hotel that opened last fall. Covered areas have been included for casual outside dining. These cabana-style retreats are equipped with cool-stream misters and fans to beat the heat. Slightly larger than the Paradise Road Courtyard, this hotel has 155 rooms. And the location is within easy walking distance to Green Valley’s trendy commercial center that contains movie theaters, arcades and a growing number of restaurants.
