Welcome to the Riviera Poker Room
We take our games seriously here at the Riviera, and many of our guests do too. While our casino is great for casual play, some players are more serious about their cards. For that reason, we host daily poker tournaments in our Poker Room. Here are some details to help you get started:
Poker Games Featured
We feature a wide spread of games, from Texas Hold’em to 7 Card Stud to No Limit Hold’em. Our main games are 1–3 No Limit Hold’em and 3–6 Limit Hold’em.
Poker Room Crowd and Competition
We get a mixed crowd in our Poker Room, which means poker play can be more inviting and enjoyable at the Riviera for a wider audience. In other words, our poker room offers a good balance of play, payouts, competition.
But don’t just take our word for it! PokerNews.com notes the loyalty of many of our players:
What makes this poker room interesting is the mix of players. Every time I have visited, many of the players know each other, but they are not locals. I call this the ‘tourist-regular phenomenon’ and it is nowhere more obvious in Las Vegas than at the Riviera.
While AllVegasPoker observes how competition can vary according to the crowd:
The level of competition varies considerably with time of day and time of year. If you happen to turn up when locals are grinding freeroll hours you’re unlikely to make a big score, but equally you have to play poorly to lose a lot to the regulars. Soft competition is mostly dependent on which conventions are either at the hotel or the convention center. Some of the least competent 1/2 players I’ve ever seen have been at the Riviera, but…their appearance is sporadic.
We’d note this also means we attract sharks from time to time, players who bide their time until they get “fish” who are easy targets. If you like gambling, this makes our Poker Room interesting: you never quite know what crowd you’re going to get.
Poker Room Staff and Management
Our Poker Room staff also get high marks. AllVegasPoker.com scores both dealers and management 5 out of 5 thanks to their friendliness to both newbies and locals, and their willingness to answer questions and take care of logistical details.
How Our Daily Tournaments Work
We offer four daily tournaments at 11am, 2pm and 11pm. They cost $60 to enter, and players start with 5k in chips. We also offer a weekly $3,000 freeroll on Saturdays at 4pm.
We offer special room rates, food comps and game specials for hours played, plus high hand bonuses. You’d be surprised how quickly these can add up! For example, it takes only 10 hours of play to qualify for 5k in chips, or 15 hours for 10k, for the weekly freeroll.
For players to get in on the game, we use an automated player management system which enables guests to access information on current games and place their names onto a wait list. Both drink service and electronic shufflers are available for players.
